Composition
Ketoconazole 20 mg in base 1 g
Nizoral ® Brand Cream ( Ketoconazole ) is a medicine for treating skin infections by fungi or yeasts. It is used for different infections of the trunk, the groin, the feet and the hands. Certain skin infections, recognizable by reddish brown patches with yellow or white scaling, usually in the face and one the chest (seborrhoeic dermatitis), are also treated with Nizoral cream.
Nizoral cream contain the synthetic broadspectrum antifungal agent, ketoconazol. Each gram contains 20 mg ketoconazole.The cream formulation consist of propyleneglycol, steary alcohol, cetyl alcohol, sorbitan stearate, polysorbate, isopropyl myristate, sodium sulphite and purified water.
INDICATIONS
Nizoral cream is indicated for topical application in the treatment of dermatophyte infections of the skin: tinea corporis, tinea cruris, tinea manus and tinea pedis due to Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Microsporum canis and Epidermophyton floccosum, as well as in the treatment ofcutaneous candidosis and tinea (pityriasis) versicolor.
Nizoral cream is also indicated for the treatment of seborrhoeic dermatitis, a skin condition related with presence of Pityrosporum ovale.
